Charles "Hop" Fuhrmann

                                                November 13, 1945 - January 27, 2015
On January 27, 2015 Carroll "Chig" Roach met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at her home in Winters, California. She is now pain and cancer free after a nine year battle.
Carroll was born November 13, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to Mr. Alfons and Lucille (Keller) Jenschke. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1963 and married Randall B. Roach, formerly of San Antonio and Alamo Heights High School, on August 20, 1966.
Carroll worked at USAA prior to her marriage to Randall and spent the next 24 years as an Air Force Officer's wife, traveling the world and raising three children, Randall Wade, Dawn Rae and Cory Wayne.
As a military wife, she held many "jobs." Her first was "pilot" and "air traffic control" helping her husband through Air Traffic Control School at Biloxi AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi. She went on to be president of the Red Cross Chapter at Richards-Gebaur AFB, Kansas City, Missouri and Officer's Wives Club President at Zaragoza AB, Zaragoza, Spain. She was also a Cub Scout leader; member of Cub and Boy Scout leadership committees; church secretary; and retired as a secretary at Center Elementary School, Travis AFB, Fairfield, Ca.
Carroll had many hobbies: sewing, embroidering, reading, board games, scrap booking and gardening, but her real joy came from her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by husband, Randall; two sons, Randall Wade (Summie) Roach of San Antonio, Texas and Cory Wayne (Lindsay) Roach of Georgetown, Texas; one daughter, Dawn (Vince) Burgess of Vacaville; an adopted son, Stephen (Sharisse) Baltikauskas of Cameron Park, California; and ten grandchildren: Quentin, Kayan, Madeleine, Hallie, Shalynn, Jasmine, Emma, Aslan, Jarrod and Spenser.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If you wish, and at the family's request, in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Carroll's honor.
Arrangements are under the care of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield, California, (707) 425-4697. You may sign the guestbook at www.bryanbraker.com.

My enduring memory of Chig was when she and her sweet mom and several others helped me to decorate my pink Jeep Surrey with flowers and white doves for the Battle of Flowers Parade one year.  Chig and I and a couple of others actually drove in the parade and won a first place Blue Ribbon for decorated cars!  It never would have happened without her, and it is a terrific memory.

She will be missed, Randy, but know she is so well remembered.  What a legacy she has left.
