Brooke Busby Mahoney
From Brooke’s daughter:
Hi. I am so sorry for just now responding as I just saw your obituary request. My Mom didn’t want an obituary - a “big deal” as she called it 🙂 She wanted to be cremated and my Dad and my brother and I scattered her ashes at the top of one of her favorite hikes in Colorado. There was no obituary. It would have been too long and too amazing anyway 😉 She was a real fighter. She battled cancer for 8 years and even went into remission after a couple years. We miss her so very much. I sincerely appreciate your reaching out. Thank you and all her classmates.

😢Brooke was my partner in "crime" in Mrs. Kurtz's homeroom. She was always so upbeat and caring. We were constantly admonished to "keep it down" when we were laughing. She even gave me a nickname because of the horrid haircut our freshman year...Baby Bird. Heaven's gain is our loss.

I always admired Brooke at AHHS-smart ,stylish, and a real sweetheart . I got know her better at UT and when she married a friend of mine- Ronnie Mahoney, John Bailey and I attended their small wedding. It was wonderful to read her daughter's heart felt comments. It certainly described the Brooke I knew .

Brooke was my first girlfriend. It was an exciting time for sure. We were both new to having a relationship. She was wonderful, thoughtful, gentle, and very caring. I haven't seen her since High School but there will always be great memories of our times together. Will miss her for sure.
