JULIA ANN "JUDY" CORNER BADDERS

McALLEN - Julia Ann Badders, a daughter given by the Lord to John and Arlene Corner, was born in Illinois in February of 1945 and walked through the gates of Heaven into the presence of her Lord and Savior on September 17, 2009.
The span of her earthly pilgrimage was 64 years. Her last words spoken to her beloved husband and friend, The Rev. John D. Badders Jr., were "I love you".
Today we rejoice in the knowledge that she has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever at home with the Savior. She was married to John on May 3, 1981.
Together, for more than 28 years, they experienced the changing scenes of life in a joyous and fruitful companionship, which the Lord had entrusted to them.
Judy was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in McAllen, Texas, where her husband is the Rector. She showed unwavering support and love throughout John's ministry in the church. She also enjoyed being an Altar Guild member, preparing the Lord's Table, as well as a being a devoted member of The Daughters of the King.
Family members continuing to serve the Lord on earth along with her husband John include: Mrs. Arlene Corner, mother; Mrs. Michelle (sister) and Mr. Charlie Schlinke, Drs. Dawn (daughter) and Joe Ontiveros; Hannah and Sophia Ontiveros (grandchildren); Mr. Brent (son) and Linda Badders; Mr. and Mrs. John Badders Sr. (father and mother in-law); Mr. David and Cindy Bednar (brother and sister in-law).
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die." John 14:25-26
The Funeral Service was Monday, September 21, 2009, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 2500 N. 10th Street, McAllen, Texas.
Memorial Contributions can be made to St. John's Episcopal Church Altar Fund, St. John's Episcopal Church, 2500 N. 10th Street, McAllen, TX 78501 or to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305.

I knew Judy before most of you. She and I attended Alma A. Neal Elementary in the San Antonio School District. She was full of fun and energy. Her mom was my Girl Scout leader. And we all remember Coach Corner...

Judy was a very good friend to me when my husband was flying helicopters in Viet Nam. What a lovely lady. From what I have read, she continued to be while on this earth and beyond.
