Jack Hicks graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1967 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. In August 1967, he married Linda Tidwell, from Ft. Worth - also a UT graduate - and spent the next three years finishing a Master of Divinity Degree at Abilene Christian University. Jack began a long career in ministry in the Fall of 1970, 27 years of which were spent preaching for churches in Colorado, Illinois and Texas.
Since 1997, Jack concentrated his ministry efforts in the area of church infrastructure, including small groups ministry. His passion for small groups first surfaced in 1988, when he installed his first small groups ministry system in the church he was serving in Chicago. Since that time, Jack began small groups in 3 more churches and trained facilitators in several others. He went to Heritage as Minister of Small Groups in March of 2005. Since that time, the Heritage small groups system has been overhauled and revitalized, with congregational participation rising dramatically.
