E-Mail Address:

Since graduating from college, I have been a preschool Montessori teacher. In 2005, I founded St. Paul's Episcopal Montessori School, thus becoming its Headmistress. Boy, what a lot of work! I have had a wonderful time, but last July, I stopped and passed the baton on to someone else. I am looking forward to hearing what others are doing in their retirement. I never quite pictured that moment arriving, and I was totally unprepared!

School Story:

High school is kind of a blur. The big event for me was the senior play which I hold dear. Any time I felt blue or a failure in my life, I would think back on that event, and remember that I once made people laugh and have a good time. I still see Mr. Swinny around town, and we give each other a big hug!

I am so sad to hear about Cissy.  She was one of my first friends when I was a child.   So sweet and kind and refined.  I knew she had been ill for a long while.  Now she has slipped the bonds of that body that didn't serve her anymore.  May she rest in peace.

I am touched to hear that Susan has died.  I am not surprised to hear that she became a psychotherapist; she was very smart and also very funny!  I remember going over to her house in high school, and liking her very much.  Her father had died, and she just had her mother.  I remember thinking she had a pretty hard life, but was making the most of it.  So glad you found her, Hop!

All I can say is that I loved Mr. Swinny with all my heart.  He was the most special teacher I ever had, and he made me feel that I was special too.  I shall miss him terribly even though I am left with tons of gratitude that he came into my life at all!  Lucky me and all of us whose lives he touched!!

I had so much fun with Barbara in grade school.  Her mom worked.  So after school, we would rearrange her whole house to be a horse run with jumps.  Then we would get at one end of the house, pretending we were horses, and run and jump through it all.  Good thing we didn't fall and kill ourselves!  We did it over and over again, until we were exhausted!  What fun!  Yes, she really loved horses!  Rest in peace!  Your friend, Kay.
