Studied business administration, worked with the Chinese Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), then worked in the finance department of the IAEA. After birth of daughter Andrea, the family moved to Germany. I stayed home with the children for 11 years and then started working with a three-nation nuclear research company. After the close-down of the Nuclear Research Program, I joined the Ordo Teutonico (a Catholic "Knight's Order) which is running old people's homes and apartments where I ran the personal department and the administration of the local branch in Aachen. I retired from work in November 2009, but am still working as a self-employed book-keeper on a small scale.

When I first arrived in San Antonio, my understanding capacity was rather poor as I was not used to the Texas accent. When my "mother" took me to the principal at AHHS to get introduced, he was very kind, chatted with us, and, at one instance, he said "Oh, I am just pulling your leg" - I just had picked up the word "leg" and looked down to see what might have happened to it ... it sure was a good laugh for the others!
