I was a member of Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church until sixth grade and knew Jimmy from those years at church and school. Jimmy was always kind and considerate, and I have thought of him over the decades for that quality. I'm very sorry to hear this sad news.

I came to Heights from New England . I was a stranger. Jimmy ALWAYS had a smile and a kind word for me. My high school years were quite hard for me. I appreciated Jimmy’s kindness MORE than I can say. His smile could light up a room! Thank you, Jimmy... thank you. May your family find comfort in knowing what a good and decent man that friendly boy became.

Jimmy was such a kind man. He'll be missed by everyone. My condolences to his family.
As a member of Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church, I remember Jimmy, his brother Rick and sister Libby. The Irwins were a kind, caring family and Jim certainly carried on that tradition in his life. I am sorry he is gone.
Jimmy led a gracious life of servitude to the United States and mankind. This world suffered a loss with his passing. My wife and I are praying for the family. I appreciated working with Jimmy and Hop on the search committee and visiting face to face with them at the reunion.
Jimmy was so kind and gracious to all. What a fine man he was. Robert Bullock
