I was found in Facebook this week by my wonderful childhood friend, Linda Bagwell Kennedy. We were Brownies together!

Alas, my family moved to Beaumont and I started sixth grade there, graduating from Beaumont High School in '63, and Rice in '67. For about nine years, I lived in Saudi Arabia and so enjoyed the travel opportunities. I lived a number of years in Houston and moved to Whidbey Island, WA, in 1998. It is beautiful here and I'd love to have classmate visitors!

I'm thrilled to see names in this site that were part of my early days. If any of you have class pictures to share from that time, I'd appreciate it, as I don't seem to still have mine.

I started school at Cambridge in Miss Espy's class, in a small building across the street from the main school building. Betsy the Collie would come into the classroom sometimes, to check on her owner, Georgann Harker. Second grade was Mrs. Felty in the main building, and learning to square dance. Woodridge was open for third grade, with Mrs. Wade, and the art of fountain pens. Fourth grade was Mrs. Lovell. Fifth grade was Mrs. Johnson. She said we did not have to memorize the times tables past 9!
